Liv-Ex 2020 pays tribute to Italy’s wine might

Liv-Ex’s much-coveted Top10 annual ranking of the best-performing international wines, just released on Liv-ex.com, includes an impressive total of four Italian wines: Gaja, Sassicaia, Ornellaia, and Masseto, a true “4-horse chariot of excellence” that leads the sustained ascent of the long-respected wines of the “Bel Paese.”
In fact, with last year as a reference, the Italian wine membership in the Liv-Ex “Power 100” jumped from 8 to 17, a distinct achievement that testifies to a powerful trend that wine-lovers looking for vinous investments are not neglecting.
Bolgheri can boast the lion’s share, but other winegrowing areas, too, vaunt collection-worthy labels, such as the Langhe, Montalcino, Chianti Classico, and Valpolicella, all areas where absolute quality and proud winemaking traditions go hand in hand with gorgeous landscapes, renowned cuisine, and world-heritage culture.
