Giro d’Italia 2021: Montalcino and Chianti Classico turn pink

This year’s Giro d’Italia winks twice at the Tuscany of wine: two stages of the route will bring the bike race through Montalcino and Chianti Classico, two symbolic places of Tuscan viticulture and unmistakable landscapes. The route of the 11th stage, scheduled for May 19, winds from Perugia to Montalcino. After 35 kilometers on white dirt roads famous for delivering exciting and decisive moments, it will be time for the traditional “Wine Stage”, this year named “Brunello Wine Stage” in honour of the local flagship wine. The event will be an international showcase of the territory and its “red gold”. The following day, the twelfth stage route will lead the participating cyclists from Siena to Bagno di Romagna, touching some of the most representative hamlets of the Chianti Classico, from Castellina to Greve, passing through Panzano in Chianti.

Waiting to raise our glasses to celebrate the “pink tour” in Tuscany, we take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Easter!
